Volume #1
For my entire adult life I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of knowledge.
From a very young age, I realized that knowledge was truly power - cliché I know but I knew that learning from the great minds that came before me would improve my life immeasurably.
My curiosity has led me from philosophy and the arts to more obscure topics like Mongolian throat singing and how to make rugs out of a very large floor loom.
Through this journey I have been able to cure my terrible case of shyness, mastered stress and anxiety, learned exactly who I am and how I want to operate in this world, and not to toot my own horn but became a much more interesting person.
Through my studies I have learned from Marcus Aurelius how to stay calm under pressure. Harry Truman taught me the importance of doing the right thing even when everyone around you tells you to do different. Eleanor of Aquitaine taught me how to make the change you want to make even when you don't have a voice. Buddhism taught me how to reduce the suffering in my life.
I want to teach you everything I have learned in a lot less than 13 years so that you too can operate in a way that helps you live exactly the kind of life you want to.
For years, I've tried to find the right platform for sharing this knowledge. My first venture into social media quickly became overwhelming.
I'd spend hours crafting thoughtful posts about Stoic principles only to see them disappear into the algorithm after receiving two likes.
When I attempted to start a YouTube channel breaking down philosophical concepts, I found myself recording and deleting the same introduction twenty times, paralyzed by self-consciousness about my delivery.
The book attempt was perhaps the most crushing. I created an extensive outline spanning fifteen chapters of life-changing wisdom, only to stare at a blank Google Doc for months.
Each time I typed a sentence, the critical voice in my head whispered that someone else had already written it better (I'm looking at you Ryan Holiday.)
After six months, my manuscript consisted of three paragraphs and a collection of abandoned drafts. These failures left me questioning whether I had anything valuable to contribute.
Yet the ideas kept accumulating. Concepts that had genuinely improved my decision-making, resilience, and relationships. I couldn't shake the conviction that if these insights had transformed my life, they might help others too.
The obstacle wasn't the content; it was finding the courage to share imperfect work and the right format that played to my strengths rather than my weaknesses.
So here I am taking my first step over the checkered beginning, and putting myself out there. Over the next year, I will be writing two newsletters a week culminating all the concepts I have developed over the years that have truly changed my life for the better.
My goal is to change your life too by blending my deep understanding of Stoicism, my deep love for Buddhism, and general knowledge about a bunch of the world's greats into an easy to read newsletter. BUT WAIT…
I am not claiming to be the most polished writer…yet. What I can promise is authentic exploration of life-changing ideas. This newsletter is both a sharing of what I've learned and a documentation of my journey to express these concepts more effectively. If you join me, you'll witness both the ideas and the medium evolve.
This is my Re:Naissance.
